Get the Look: Halloween Unicorn Makeup

Unicorn-inspired trends are here to stay which means it will surely be a popular costume come Halloween. Make your costume stand above the rest by following this unicorn makeup tutorial. Over the last year unicorns have taken over pop culture, turning up in trendy Frappuccino drinks to umpteen beauty products, from hair glitter to rainbow pastel palettes. It's safe to say the unicorn craze is upon us and isn't going anywhere any time soon. With all the pastel, metallic and rainbow products hitting beauty aisles, it's now easier than ever to recreate a fun and easy unicorn makeup look for Halloween. We enlisted influencer @lucierheaume to execute an easy DIY pastel unicorn-inspired beauty look. So get your makeup brushes and hair colour ready and follow along with our unicorn makeup tutorial and quick, colourful hair guide to get Halloween ready for this year.

Steps for hair

Step 1:
To achieve unicorn hair, start with a clean, dry mane. Brush through your hair to remove any knots or tangles which will ensure the colour will go on evenly. Once your strands are properly prepped, separate the small sections of hair you want to add the colour to.

Step 2:
Using L’Oréal Paris Colorista Hair Makeup in #Purple50, #Raspberry10, #Green70 and #Blue60 squeeze a small amount of each shade into your fingertips. Add each colour to your hair where ever you want to create the multi-coloured hair look. The more colour you add, the more unicorn-like your mane will be!

Step 3:
To lock in your new rainbow strands, reach for your hair dryer and hot tools to dry the coloured areas of your hair and style your mane into your desired look.

Steps for makeup

Step 1:
Begin with clean, bare lids or with a thin coat of eyeshadow primer on your upper lids. Using a fluffy eyeshadow blending brush, apply Infallible Eyeshadow in Glistening Garnet #557 to your eyelid and blend until you have a smooth, even application.

Step 2:
For full, fluttery lashes, brush on two coats of Voluminous Original Mascara in Black onto your top and bottom lashes.

Step 3:
Reach for a small blush brush and blend Infallible Eyeshadow in Amber Rush #892 into a ‘V’ formation around your eyes and around your temples. Blend the shadow into your skin so you don’t have any harsh lines, just soft diffused colour.

Step 4: Using
Paradise Enchanted Blush in Fantastical #191 and a blush or powder brush, go over the ‘V’ area and its outer edges to soften and further blend out the colour.

Step 5:
With Infallible Paints Liquid Eyeliner in White Party #310, steady your hand and draw little stars onto your cheekbones and around your eyes. You can draw as many or as few as you’d like, depending on what kind of look you’re going for.

Step 6:
To amp up your unicorn makeup sparkle, add Lumi Shimmerista in Sunlight #506 to the inner corner of your eyes and around the outside of the eyes for a glowy highlight.

Step 7:
Top off your unicorn-inspired beauty look with a coat of Infallible Paints Metallic in Moon Lust #330 on your lips.

Step 8:
To give your pout some extra glossy shine, apply Infallible Pro Gloss 8HR in Petal #105 to the middle bottom of your lip. This will add extra shine and make your lips appear fuller.

Easy, right? It just takes a few strokes of metallic makeup and strands of pastel hair colour to create this Halloween unicorn makeup look.
