Who says pastels are only for spring? (Not us!) This pretty-in-pink and purple makeup is a gorgeous way to update your beauty look for fall, and we’ve got good news: There’s a shade of pink that works for every skin tone. L’Oréal Paris global makeup director Val Garland created this look for newly appointed spokesperson Cindy Bruna for the brand’s recent virtual shoot in Paris. Right on trend with cool-girl monochromatic makeup, this tonal look plays with different shades of pink and purple on lips, lids and cheeks. Garland calls this look fresh and romantic, and we couldn’t agree more! The trick to pulling it off? Blending, blending and more blending. If you’re looking to experiment with pastel shades, read on for a step-by-step tutorial on how to recreate this oh-so-gorgeous look at home.
Before picking up your blush brush, hit the Try On to virtually see this pink look on you—it’s that easy. Thanks to innovative ModiFace technology, you can virtually try on this makeup look and see how the full style looks on you. What are you waiting for?
Step 1
Before diving into the colours for this look, prep your skin with a hydrating moisturizer like L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Triple Power LZR Day Cream to ensure a plump and perfected canvas pre-makeup.
Step 2
Evening out the complexion is key for this look as it will ensure that the pink on your cheeks and eyes really pop. For natural-looking, lightweight coverage, buff
L’Oréal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream into your skin using a foundation brush or a damp makeup sponge. This all-in-one BB cream checks four boxes: hydrating, priming, perfecting and correcting skin for a feather-light finish that never looks heavy. For areas that need a hint more coverage, like around your nose and under your eyes, dab L’Oréal Paris True Match Eye Cream Concealer onto your skin and blend it out using your finger.
Step 3
To get Cindy’s megawatt glow, dab a drop or two of L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Glow Amour Drops in Golden Hour on the tops of your cheekbones for a dewy, light-reflecting finish.
Step 4
Nothing frames the face like a set of perfectly shaped brows. Starting at the base of your brows, use L’Oréal Paris Brow Stylist Definer to draw on small hairlike strokes and fill in any areas of sparseness. The narrow, ultra-fine tip of this pencil is great for giving arches a natural look with an ease of application.
Step 5
Now comes the fun part! To get that airbrushed, soft finish on your cheeks and eyes, grab a fluffy blush brush and L’Oréal Paris True Match Blush in Rosy Outlook. Starting at your temple, gently begin to buff on your pink blush, moving the brush down toward your cheek. For a diffused look, work in layers and slowly build up the colour. Garland’s tip: Using your blush brush, apply the powder from the outer corner of your eye out to the temple and then down to the cheek to get a seamless wash of colour.
Step 6
To blend your pink blush into your eyes, take a small flat-top brush and apply L’Oréal Paris Color Queen Oil-Eyeshadow in Ruler all over the eyelid, blending it out to meet the pink blush at the outer corner of the eye. Soften the edges with a fluffy brush. Next, apply L’Oréal Paris Infallible 24HR in Glistening Garnet to the inner corner of the top eyelid and blend the colour out to diffuse into the purple and pink on the lid.
Step 7
Black mascara will really help your lashes stand out against the pastel shades on your eyes. Apply a few coats of L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara in Blackest Black to top and bottom lashes to thicken and define—and your eyes are complete!
Step 8
Pull this fresh and captivating look together with a swipe of L’Oréal Paris Brilliant Signature Lipstick in Be Captivating. This pinky-nude lipstick perfectly complements the pastel wash on your eyes and adds a dose of shine.
