[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was genuinely impressed with how beautifully the L’Oreal Mac chic root cover up touch spray covered my visible scalp and roots, especially when applied to freshly washed air-dried hair. The coverage looked natural, blended beautifully with my hair, and held up very well indoors. Unfortunately, the staying power was disappointing, and the heat the product actually ran down my face. It also transferred onto my baseball cap, clothing, and pillowcase. I noticed that touching or scratching my scalp caused the product to flake off and collect underneath my fingernails. I really wanted to love this product because the initial results are fantastic, and the difference in coverage was immediately noticeable. However, a touch up spray needs to withstand everyday activities without constantly transferring or coming off. Overall, excellent coverage, but disappointing durability. I would consider using it again for short indoor occasion, but I would not trust it in hot weather or fall for in all weather wear day

First, prepare hair as you normally would...then shake bottle well. Put a towel around your shoulders so you don't get drops of the spray on your clothes. Colors More Than Your Roots

I like to color match to my hair, but the spray blasts everywhere. I have to go back and clean-up my forehead, ears, neck and the can was no where near my neck (that's how much it sprays everywhere). Also, when I had an itch on my head, my fingers would pull away with brown product all over them and under my nails. It says it's smudge-free, but that's false advertisement. Other than that, it does cover the gray, and fluffs my hair like a dry shampoo would and stays on until you wash.

Loreal Red spray cover up

My hair grows fast, like 3/4-1 inch evert 4 weeks. This product works fantastic between the temporary hair applications at my hair salon. I don’t understand the negative feedback which is opposite of my experience; and I have used this for many years. It drys fast. Does not rub off on hands, pillows hands etc once dry. Blends so well, that the growth of grey hair is undetectable. Doesn't come off until I shampoo, and even then it takes two soap ups to remove. I use the color Red. I wish it were less expensive, however, one bottle lasts months for me. You have a fan here!

Beware of running fingers through hair

I've used this stuff for years, but it's only recently that it comes off on my hands and pillows and anything that touches my hair even a DAY after applying it. It used to dry and stay put. Now my fingers are always black from just running my fingers through it to check my hair throughout the day. So frustrating.

It works...kind of.

It works when you actually get product in the can. Lately they have been stingy with the amount of paint in the can, most of the time it just sprays clear liquid and no dye no matter how much you shake it or what angle you hold it at. The dye itself has an oily feel that is rather unpleasant so you have to find a balance of getting it to actually color and not making your scalp look greasy. It also comes off easily like it never really dries all the way, very often it smears on my pillow cases, even if I applied it in the morning, and I wake up looking like Robert Downey Jr in Tropic Thunder.

The product did color, the after was horrible.

Bring back old formula!

I am distraught I have used this product for years. This past month I purchased and it seems like a completely different formula that doesn’t cover my gray at ALL. I tried 3 different bottles to see if it was a fluke or not. Please bring back the old version with better coverage this is awful and so sticky too!

I've used root touch up for years, however, most recently, it's terrible. Dries out my hair, makes it feel sticky, comes off all over clothing, pillows, etc…you can NOT touch your hair even hours or days after spraying it because it will be all over your hands. It feels sticky and cake-like on your hair. Absolutely disappointing root product on the market and the cost has gone up exponentially.
