We get it. Temporary hair colour sprays get a bad rap. They can be chalky and sticky and (gasp!) look obvious. Worse still, oftentimes they only show up on super-blond hair—brunettes are left with a weak tinge of colour that’s barely, if at all, noticeable. Boring.
Not so with Colorista 1-Day Spray. It comes in an endless array of colours—including a super-chic, completely au courant silver shade—and it won’t dry out or stain your tresses. Best of all, Colorista is a truly temporary tint that has great coverage and is vibrant even on dark hair. Suffice it to say, it’ll make a believer out of even the biggest spray skeptics.
And since going grey [link to other grey hair story] is making major waves, sartorially speaking, these days, we think there’s no better time to give it a whirl. Follow the steps below to achieve this gorgeous silver colour from a can.
STEP ONE:
First, drape a towel around your shoulders to protect your clothes. Before you begin, you’ll want to ensure you’re in a well-ventilated area and that you have enough Colorista Spray to cover your whole head of hair; those with long, thick hair like our model will likely need to have a few cans on hand.
If you’re not into a perfect monochrome colour and want to show off slightly darker roots for a stark-cool-girl contrast, simply place a paper towel along your hairline to cover your roots before spraying.
STEP TWO:
Shake the can and then, holding it at least 10 to 15 centimetres from dry hair, spray downwards so that the colour falls onto the hair, creating a more even look. You’ll notice that the colour becomes more visible as it dries, so be sure to wait at least one minute before spraying again—less is definitely more!
STEP THREE:
When you’re finished applying the colour, mist a bit of Elnett Hairspray to seal it in and minimize any transfer.
Et voilà! Perfect for finicky or indecisive types, this statement-making silver-grey spray is a must-do for gals who want to turn heads—temporarily.
