What Is Temporary Hair Dye?
Temporary hair colors are direct dyes composed of large color molecules that coat the hair shaft. The molecules are too big to penetrate through to the cortex, meaning they wash away the next time you shampoo your hair. Temporary color can improve hair tone, add shine and provide some white/grey hair coverage. As there is no developer or oxidant, it won’t damage your hair.

Different Kinds of Temporary Hair Color
Temporary hair color comes in a multitude of forms, from mousses to gels, sprays, rinses, shampoos and treatment conditioners.
1. Hair Makeup
Think of temporary hair dye as makeup for your hair. In a squeezable tube, this gentle leave-in formula offers one-day color that washes out with shampoo. No bleach or gloves required. Mix and match different shades.
Cover grey in seconds with a spray containing a pinpoint to precisely target grey hairs and achieve perfectly blended coverage with rich color pigments – whether you have blonde, brown or black hair. For ultra-precise application, why not opt for a root concealer brush?
3. Shampoos and Toners
These offer a practical way to add a little extra color. For example, our silver grey hair toner beautifies natural grey hair by removing yellow hues and leaving grey hair with natural, luminous silver tones. Lasting 2 shampoos on average, it’s applied like a hair mask and easy to rinse out.
4. Sprays
Temporary hair color spray adds vibrant notes in seconds. These spray-on pigments instantly color no matter how dark or light your hair, so you can wear hair color without the commitment. These direct dyes are in an ultra-light micro powder form that sprays on, stays on all day, and lasts until washed out.
